SCIL is the training branch of Support Services for Education (SSE). 

Part of Somerset County Council, our team provide training and continued professional development to staff and volunteers in schools, early years settings, childminders, voluntary organisations and those wishing to enter the children and young people’s workforce. 

Courses range from statutory child protection, CPD and bespoke in-house sessions to teacher training and degree level qualifications. Our aim is to support a culture of lifelong learning in a workforce where everyone feels values and can reach their full potential.
